When the Dot NET generic extension was first set up in 1985, along with the first domain name extensions on the Internet, it was intended to be used by Internet Service Providers or infrastructure firms. In view of the fact that there were no specific rules about the usage of the top-level domain extension, though, dot NET domains were obtained and used for different purposes and by a large number of people. This extension represents an ideal substitute of .COM, especially if the desired domain with the latter domain extension is not free for registration.
Registering a .NET domain with our company is as easy as ABC and takes barely a couple of minutes, in view of the fact that we work with an ICANN-accredited registrar company. You can reserve such a domain for an interval between one and ten years, or, if you already have a domain, you can transfer it to our firm and we will renew it when the transfer process is finalized. Transfers are possible for all domain names, which are at least 60 days old, provided that they are unlocked and that you have acquired an EPP transfer authorization key – security measures set up by the Registry against unauthorized transfers. You can easily modify the WHOIS contacts of the domain through your Control Panel tool, or, if you wouldn't like this info to be public at all, you can get a Whois Privacy Protection service, so nobody will be able to get your real contact details.
The dot NET top-level extension supports internationalized names, so you can select whether you want to concentrate on a certain country or area using a domain name in the local language, or the global Internet community – using a generic English name.
