FTP (File Transfer Protocol), is one of the most famous methods for transmitting website files between a PC and a server. Using an FTP client program such as FileZilla, you can set up a connection to your hosting account and drag & drop files or whole directories in either direction and the software will cope with all the rest. There are several benefits of using FTP, among them the ability to resume an upload/download if there’s some problem with the FTP connection and the option to have different FTP accounts. With the latter option, you can create FTP users that can access only certain folders in your hosting account, but no other folders, e-mail accounts or other information, which makes it the best solution particularly when you have to give a web designer access, for example. You can also use an FTP account with popular web design apps such as Dreamweaver or FrontPage and upload the sites that you’ve created directly from them, without any 3rd-party software.

FTP Accounts in Shared Hosting

Creating and administering numerous FTP accounts will be unbelievably easy with any of our shared hosting. This service isn’t restricted, so with our time and effort saving Hepsia hosting Control Panel, you’ll be able to set up as many accounts as you have to, in order to administer your sites and to get your website-related tasks completed. In case you hire a web developer and they’re done with the website, for instance, you can edit the FTP password or delete the entire FTP account with just one click of the mouse through the Control Panel. For convenience’s sake, you’ll be able to view a list of all the FTP accounts that you’ve set up and what directories they can connect to. Handy options such as updating the access path or the password and downloading an auto-config file for commonly used FTP client applications are also only a click away.

FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers

When you host your websites in a semi-dedicated server account, you will be able to create a separate FTP account for each of them, since we haven’t set a limit on this feature with any of our semi-dedicated server plans. You can accomplish this via the FTP section of our simple-to-work-with Hepsia Control Panel where you can also view the full list of all the FTP accounts that you’ve set up, along with the folder that each one can access. If necessary, you’ll be able to edit the password for a specific FTP account or to change its access path with several clicks. You can also remove an account with ease in case you do not require it any longer – for example, if you’ve hired a web developer who is finished with the website and you don’t want them to be able to access your website files any longer. For the sake of convenience, we have created different educational videos, that will help you administer your FTP accounts without any effort in case you have never used a web hosting service previously.

FTP Accounts in VPS Servers

None of the VPS servers offered by us includes any limit on the number of FTP accounts that you can manage at any given time, so you can create a separate account for any site hosted on the Virtual Private Server, no matter if it’s under a domain or sub-domain. Also, it does not matter which hosting Control Panel you will select when you join – Hepsia, DirectAdmin or cPanel, as an FTP server will be set up on your virtual machine during the configuration of any of them. If you want different users to establish an FTP connection to the very same directory using their own personal sign-in credentials, for example, it will take a couple of clicks to set up a different FTP account for each of them. Deleting an active account or changing the directory that it can access is just as simple and you will not have any problem, even if you have no past experience in such matters.
